A keen analysis provided us with an insight that highly developed nations like Australia, USA, Canada and some parts of Europe presented a constant higher diagnosed cases. This can be attributed to the fast paced lifestyle. The quality of medical facilities in these countries are far more superior than other countries which makes the diagnosis easier. The awareness of population about mental health also plays a major role.
The analysis of depression age-wise over the years tells us that older population is constantly facing major depressive episodes in comparison to younger generation. This can be attributed to the fact that many old age people are living alone which takes a toll on their mental health. Some of them are abandoned by their kids and are staying in old age homes which makes them lonely and causes depression.
